Abstract :
Recently, we have developed innovative optoelectronic noses by mimicking the human nose. They are based on an original optical detection system, surface plasmon resonance imaging, and cross-reactive sensor microarray using peptides and other biomolecules as sensing materials. Today, our technology has been successfully transferred to a local start-up company, which has miniaturized the device to a portable system for commercialization. In this talk, I will focus on our biomimetic strategy for the development of such devices, in particular, the strategy for the design of novel functional materials with improved performances.
